He moved to the United States in 1965 where he acquired
training in sculpture with an emphasis on metal and
engineering. He received a master of fine arts in 1981.
During his academic
training Bernard participated in numerous shows. He
had work exhibited in the Museum of Contemporary Crafts
in Manhattan, and the Renwick Gallery of the Smithsonian,
as well as a commission from the state of New York at
Art Park in Lewiston. Throughout this time his works
had been purchased and shown by many galleries, museums,
corporate and private collections.
Following his studies Bernard moved to Seattle where
he continued expanding artistic talent with commissions
from the State of Alaska, the city of Mercer Island
and countless corporate and private patrons.
In 1997 and 2003 he toured Europe visiting sculpture
gardens, artists, and museums. Becoming acquainted with
the works of the great masters and contemporary artists
alike, Bernard developed an even greater lust for creation.
Currently he is working on a collection of metal spheres.
